1. What are your current goals and why?
My current goals are eating well-balanced meals, running 2-3x a week because I have my first 5k in April, strength training 2-3x a week, and managing stress.
2. What keeps you motivated?
Not only does my coach do an amazing job meeting me where I'm at, but she also reminds me of my answers on my check-in form, which leads me back to my why. Why am I doing this? I do this for my overall health. I used to want to do it to achieve the perfect body, but that is all the byproduct of feeling healthy and happy. I do it for my happiness. I do it for my mental health. Everything else falls in place when I put my health first!
3. Why is it important to you to live a healthy lifestyle?
It keeps me alive. Alive in the moment and alive in my desires. Being at the top of my game mentally allows me to make better life decisions that lead me to a happy lifestyle.
4. What is your most memorable experience in this program?
There are several! First, seeing the difference in my body from when I first started to where I am now. Even though my weight really hasn't changed much but body has. There's no arguing with data! Second, hitting PRs I never thought I would. At my peak, I can bench the weight of my fiancé whose 6’1… in case of an emergency. And lastly, being able to run 3.75 miles and able to hold a conversation. Never did I think I would enjoy running or be able to do that long a run without being out of breath. I'm just amazed at the many things my body is able to do!
5. BRIGHT SPOTS. Hype up your accomplishments. What are you most proud of so far?
My mental health and the way I look at fitness. I rave to everyone I talk to about eating whole foods and moving your body, even if it's one simple change! I tell people it's all about diet, and it's not all about exercise. It's a balance of those two and your mental state, which I think is the hardest part. I'm so happy to have the habits I have put in place. Even when I am off of my routine for a week or two, I'm shocked at the rate my body bounces back into a routine. It's a lifestyle change, and it does take a while, but it's the best thing I've ever done for myself. I hope everyone realizes or at least allows themselves the chance to love themselves so much to make the changes they want little by little. Focusing on you first fills your cup that WILL spill over into others.
