1.) What are your current goals and why?
My current goals are to build strength - physical strength and strength in my relationships with my loved ones. Through most of my life, I've put everyone else first and have had a hard time prioritizing my needs. I began this journey toward improvement for myself and to be better for my family.
2.) What keeps you motivated?
The feelings I get after completing a workout and the energy I have to be with my family and in every day life keep me motivated. While I may need to hype myself up at times to go to the gym, I always feel better afterward. Remembering this is key!
3.) Why is it important to you to live a healthy lifestyle?
It's important to me to live a healthy lifestyle so I can be around a long time for my children - not just around, but active and engaging with my children as well. A healthy lifestyle is also important so I feel good about myself. I want to feel alive and happy. I can't achieve this without my health.
4.) What is your most memorable experience in this program?
My most memorable experience in this program is my first introduction zoom call with Alexa. I feel like she really listened to my needs and developed a program for my goals. She saw the bigger picture right from the beginning when I couldn't yet see it myself. She continues to do this weekly whenever I have a new goal or need advice on how to meet a goal. I'm lucky to have her as a coach!
5.) BRIGHT SPOTS. Hype up your accomplishments, what are you most proud of so far since starting the program?
I'm most proud of my 1RM improvements in squats and deadlifts. I can't believe how much I improved in the first couple of months! I'm next most proud of improving my eating habits. Never in my life did I think I would: 1. eat vegetables multiple times a day and 2. enjoy them. I'm not only proud of eating vegetables, but also learning more about how to eat a balanced diet that can include some of my comfort foods as well.
